5 minutes with the winner - Bordertown Cup

After a slightly less than summery start to December, things took a turn for the better at the Bordertown Cup on Sunday the 10th of December. With a huge crowd of locals, including plenty of kids and families, turning out, it was one of the biggest Fashions on the Field competitions of the season so far!

Taking out the title was the 2016/17 Competition Runner Up Bri Scanlon, a Salon Owner and FOTF afficianado from Millicent, who can often be seen at racing events around the state always dressing to impress.

It was a colourful day especially at Bordertown, and Bri was no different in her Bariano dress, matched with Lauder Taylor Millinery, Siren shoes and accessories from Olga Berg and Mango's Fashion Boutique. We caught up with Bri after her win on the Limestone Coast!

I started coming to the races when: the local Millicent Cup about 6 years ago! I thought it would be a fun day out - have been going religiously since!!

And I couldn't do trackside without: appropriate racewear- Millinery is a must for me.

The last time I entered Fashion's on the field: was the Mount Gambier Gold Cup, December 2017. Two cups in one year- how could you not.

My wardrobe looks like: overflowing haha! I actually have a spare room at home dedicated to racewear clothing and millinery.

The most embarrassing thing I've ever worn is: probably when I was around 12/13 I went to a football game in Geelong wearing the most hideous long brown leather jacket, jeans and the trusty old sneakers as an ensemble! Worst part was I went into the rooms after the game and met Tom Hawkins and had a photo- I cringe every time I see the picture!

But my favourite thing I own is: a piece of Millinery that Helen Mary Millinery made for me from my Nanna's old felt hat. Very sentimental!

What people might not know about me: I am of Italian decent- my mum was born in Italy!

Weekends look like: working Saturday's and resting on Sunday's- usually catching up with friends or taking the dog for a drive down the beach for a run!

I love to indulge in: CHOCOLATE! My absolute kryptonite.

My kind of day out is:
anything spent with great company and good food.

On my bucket list I want to: visit the Greek Islands- currently saving as we speak.

I wish I could have a glass of bubbles with: all of the ABBA members!

This year I am looking forward to: the Christmas/New Year period- Holiday time finally!

I love the races because: the atmosphere is fantastic- catching up with friends is always great fun. I love the Fashions and being able to see what everyone comes up with interpreting trends and showing their own styles.

Bri won $1000 as the Best Dressed at the Bordertown Cup and qualified for the 2017/18 State Final. Your next chance to qualify is at the Ceduna Cup on the 6th of January in the New Year!
