Lincoln Moore's Morphettville Parks Preview

SA racing industry journalist Lincoln Moore backed up his outstanding Saturday tipping service debut for TRSA with another ripping effort last weekend, with his best bet (The Difference) and best each way (Parlophone) both getting home. His tips for Saturday’s Morphettville Parks meeting are below.

RACE 1 - 12:16PM Furphy Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate (1000 METRES)

CHOSEN BLONDE was game at Murray Bridge when she ran the highly rated Celestine to under a length. She’ll make her own luck from the gate and should work to the lead in the small field. Looks hard to beat. SUPER LOOKA caught the eye in the same race, flashing home late to finish third, and was scratched from Wednesday for this. ULTIMATE VICTORY had specking at odds on debut when beaten three lengths behind Daniyah and has jumped out well for his return. He draws a nice gate. JAKAZONE improved at his second trial behind The Multiplier, while GOGOLF GURU was beaten 5.8 lengths at Murray Bridge on debut behind Kirinia who won well at Balaklava on Wednesday.

RACE 2 - 12:51PM TAB Maiden Plate (1250 METRES)

THE OLYMPIAN had good specking and finished off well on debut at Murray Bridge. He’s obviously going to benefit a lot from the outing and should only improve as he gets out over further. PROMOTER is making his debut for Michael Hickmott. He looked pretty good – after jumping slowly – when winning a recent Murray Bridge jump-out. The booking of Todd Pannell is a strong pointer and the stable had a winner on debut midweek. PASSING PHASE ran well in a leader-dominated race at Murray Bridge behind Born To Play. She’ll be fitter and looks to have genuine improvement in her. DOUBLE BLUE is racing well and deserves to break through in similar grade but has had some chances. The Ryan Balfour pair of MONRAAJ and PLYMPTON are both nine-start maidens, although MONRAAJ has fitness on his side.

RACE 3 - 1:31PM Chalk Hill Handicap (1000 METRES)

BRIMARVI VEHERO is a smart galloper with four wins and 12 placings from his 20 starts. He got back and finished off hard behind IRISH MINT here two runs back and beat all but Octane last time. He should get a gun run in the box seat from the inside and looks the top pick. HARD ROCK GIRL is a quality three-year-old filly who was game in the Queen Adelaide two runs back before sticking on well behind Extra Time in the National Stakes at Group 3 level last time. She draws perfectly and will make her presence felt. IRISH MINT, with four wins and four placings from 12 starts this track, gets in well with the claim. STAR OF MONSOON was a noted drifter and only battled last week but drops sharply in weight and can turn things around on the quick back-up. CELTIC BLAST is another with a good record this track and trip but needs to lift. CROWN FONTEIN is also very good galloper on his day, but his recent form has been poor. He sat on speed and faded to be beaten eight lengths behind Octane last week, but he was placed in last year’s Oakbank Stakes behind Despatch and did win the Golden Topaz at Swan Hill (beating I Am Someone, who would run odds-on here).

RACE 4 - 2:11PM Graham Burns Memorial Handicap (2250 METRES)

Wide open race and not one I’m overly keen to bet in. OURKHANI has the blinkers off this week after racing on speed when he faded behind Bertwhistle last week. DISCO REBEL wasn’t beaten far after leading in the same race and her recent form has been solid enough for a race like this. MUNTHAM MISSILE won consecutive races back in class, before being specked from $11 into $8 behind Bertwhistle at Gawler. She does have a good winning record with five wins from 18 starts. VINACEOUS was a Moonee Valley winner late last year, and although his recent form across the border has only been fair, that can sometimes measure up well in a race that lacks some serious depth. MAGNUS MAN jumps up from winning a maiden over 2112m at Gawler, while COBBERS MATE is another who comes off an all-the-way Gawler win at a price last time.

RACE 5 - 2:51PM Camp Quality Handicap (1250 METRES)

OH MO was back to his best producing a brilliant turn of foot late to run down BEEOKAY here last time out. He draws out and should again be finishing hard late. DANGER DEAL ran really well first-up from a spell. His best would be good enough for this. He’s been costly in his career but he’s more than capable from a good barrier. PERFECT COMMAND has a good record this track and trip and was racing very well before a short break. He won a trial at Balaklava for his return and must be respected from a good gate. CALL ME CURTIS has missed a place just once in 12 starts this track and trip but his two runs for Darren Magro have been only fair. VIEIRA is another who races well this track and trip and is drawn to get a good run, while BEEOKAY is back in trip after leading up in the race won by The Difference last week. SILVERHAWK won well at Murray Bridge two runs back before leading and being beaten 10 lengths over 1400m here last time.

RACE 6 - 3:31PM Jockey Celebration Day Handicap (1400 METRES)

JACOBITE PRINCE has drawn the inside, has three wins from five starts here and was a winner this track and trip in May. He stuck on well in a leader-dominated race here last time and will be right in the mix from the inside gate. BELLA AMORE looks well suited here for the powerful Mick Price and Mick Kent Jr yard. She’s drawn wide but was a Sandown winner over 1400m four starts back. LEFT HAND MAN led them up when he was run down late by Oh Mo last time. The wide gate is a slight concern. ARAY OF SUNSHINE has a good record, has been kept fresh for this, and the 1400m should be OK from a handy barrier. FLOP could be the improver with the blinkers on for the first time. She races well here and has been finishing off her races strongly as per usual. FINAL HEARING is back from Alice Springs, so keep an eye on any betting moves.

RACE 7 - 4:11PM Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (1550 METRES)

Two horses racing very well in TERRITORY TITAN and ROTHMOORE clash again here. ROTHMOORE has a slight pull in the weights on last time when he got well back before flashing late to be beaten just under a length. The lack of any recent Adelaide rain hasn’t helped his claims. TERRITORY TITAN is chasing his fourth win in succession and was too good for ROTHMOORE over this track and trip last time. He has plenty of weight, but it is impossible to overlook just how well he is racing. TABERNA could be the horse with the most upside. She ran really well at her SA debut for Jon O’Connor, flashing home late wide out, only to be nosed out by Sadente. The extra trip looks ideal. TUBBY TWO TRACKS had a gun run behind the speed when she finished too strongly for Tumanako last time. The wide gate hasn’t helped her claims but her best is well and truly good enough for this. NEAR MAGIC has won two of his past three on his home track at Murray Bridge and must be respected. COFFEE AMOUR showed solid improvement last time behind Analytica at Gawler and that form has been franked since, although she may be looking for a touch further.

RACE 8 - 4:46PM Terry Howe Printing Handicap (1300 METRES)

Pretty keen on Victorian visitor HOT IN PARIS who has run favourite at four of her past five runs. She finished off strongly when runner-up at Ballarat on the synthetic track last time. She gets good track conditions, a good barrier and Jason Holder takes the ride. WOUNDED SOLDIER was well backed to win here two starts back before a plain effort behind Royalty at Murray Bridge. STRYKE IN STYLE strips fitter for one run back when he made ground and the jump from 1100m to 1300m looks ideal. LEILA’S STAR draws a nice gate and her Victorian form is OK for a race like this, while JIVE BABY trialled OK before a handy first-up run when placed behind Tinny Bar Blue at Gawler.

BEST BET: HOT IN PARIS (Race 8)

EACH-WAY: TABERNA (Race 7)

VALUE: BELLA AMORE (Race 6)
