Lincoln Moore's Morphettville Preview

BEST BET: HERE COMES LENNI (Race 7)

EACH-WAY: SYMPHONETTE (Race 6)

VALUE: RESURGE (Race 9)

RACE 1 - Adelaide Galvanising Two-Year-Old Plate (1050 METRES)

The Lindsay Park stable holds the aces here with debutant ELTEECEE, who looked good in a Werribee jump-out and again in its second public outing at Flemington. Tony and Calvin McEvoy have two debutants. SEMECO won a recent Balaklava trial from a wayward Double Show and will no doubt take plenty of benefit from that and Barend Vorster has opted for him ahead of HURTLE was ridden out to win a Morphettville Parks trial. BLERIOT has bumped into two pretty handy Victorians at both runs, sticking on strongly behind Gulf Of Suez on debut before finding Yulong Turbo a touch too smart last time. CASSOWARY won a Murray Bridge jump out way back in October.

SELECTIONS: ELTEECEE, Bleriot, Semeco

RACE 2 - 1:01PM Winning Edge Presentations Maiden Plate (1050 METRES)

LULU DESIGN was in the market on debut when beaten four lengths behind Fearless Vision at Murray Bridge back in May. She didn’t do a lot in a trial at Morphettville back in November but has the blinkers on. IMPOSSIBLE ACTION was runner-up at Murray Bridge on debut before being spelled after he was beaten 6.2 lengths behind Quietly Discreet. He comes out of a good trial and looks well suited here. SELLIX doesn’t run many bad races, but is struggling to win one. No doubt he’ll be in the mix again. GO BUNDLE had trialled OK before tiring late on debut behind Alotafun at Gawler. SPINOLA BAY was well beaten in her only trial behind Anilla but has had some time between and could run a race.

SELECTIONS: LULU DESIGN, Impossible Action, Sellix

RACE 3 - 1:36PM Holdfast Insurance Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

FIGHTER won a trial before he was well backed and finished off strongly late behind Possum Born on debut. He draws out, but this isn’t a strong race. He’s short but should take beating. THRILL KILL ran well behind Outlaws Revenge at Gawler last week and looks an improving type. AMBER HAZE was ridden on speed when third behind Possum Born at Balaklava. She has upside and must be respected from a good barrier. NANE DULCE draws a good gate and gets blinkers for the first time.

SELECTIONS: FIGHTER, Amber Haze, Thrill Kill

RACE 4 - TAB Handicap (1200 METRES)

Good, even race. MAYAMEEN has talent and won at Strath and Murray Bridge before being tested in the Oaklands Plate, running seventh behind Instant Celebrity back in June. She has the benefit of two trials under her belt. She was OK at Morphettville before going to Balaklava and winning her trial impressively by five lengths. The wide gate is a slight concern. WINNING WEATHER has only missed a place once in seven starts, running fourth behind MAYAMEEN at Murray Bridge back in June. He was sent out favourite when runner-up behind LI’L PIPER. The claim in this race is a bonus. STRUCK BY was very good winning back in class, but draws off the track. ULTIMATE VICTORY is still learning and his last 100m was good at Gawler last week. He maps to get a nice run behind the speed. MRS MOURINHO was too good in a much weaker race at Strathalbyn last time. ALOTAFUN is showing promise and followed a good Gawler win on debut with a handy run in the race won by Li’l Piper last time.

SELECTIONS: MAYAMEEN, Ultimate Victory, Winning Weather

RACE 5 - 2:51PM Furphy Handicap (1200 METRES)

LAKE’S FOLLY is a former Freedman horse now with Michael Hickmott. He’s lightly-raced but is two from four first-up and his form at the end of last preparation was pretty good for a race like this. MAY BE FATE was brave first-up from a spell when she beat all but Call me Shamus and has the claim to help offset a wide gate. LATEST BENTLEY is coming off a Kyneton win and he’ll be in the thick of things from a good gate with Barend Vorster booked to ride. Fellow Victorian WIN FALL is dropping in class and draws the inside gate, while RYTHMATIC is racing well and gets Todd Pannell.

SELECTIONS: LAKE’S FOLLY, May Be Fate, Latest Bentley

RACE 6 - Chapel Hill Handicap (1200 METRES)

SYMPHONETTE was a nice run first-up in the Christmas Handicap when she raced on speed and was only beaten 2.8 lengths behind Savatoxl. She draws out but has a touch of class over these and I think the $4.20 is an attractive bet. JUST CHIPPING AWAY is flying and has a very good record. She’s claimed the scalps of Trip and Taken Off at her past two and draws a good barrier. But she’s short enough at $2.90. MISS JANE rides the speed and draws to be in the mix. VIDUKA draws a nice gate and has been placed at three of four starts here while MASTERATI draws a lovely gate and could be a blow out at a price.

SELECTIONS: SYMPHONETTE, Just Chipping Away, Masterati

RACE 7 - Dominant Handicap (1600 METRES)

HERE COMES LENNI should be primed to fire in SA after two runs for Will Clarken, running second behind Left hand Man before another solid run behind Territory Titan last time. He draws a perfect gate in barrier two and this looks his race. MAGNETIC EDGE is racing well and draws to get a good run from barrier four. His recent form is good enough in a race like this and he’s the danger. MR EPIC is knocking on the door but faces a tricky gate. NASEEB goes OK fresh and was a good winner at Edenhope over 2000m three starts back. He can run a race first-up at a mile. DR DEE DEE was a good winner back in class, while Victorian MONTASER has some appeal in a race like, this coming off a Werribee placing two starts back.

SELECTIONS: HERE COMES LENNI, Magnetic Edge, Naseeb

RACE 8 - 4:51PM Accolade Wines Handicap (1050 METRES)

BRAZEN BRANDO has been sent out favourite at his past two in Melbourne, the latest at Sandown behind Ididitforlove. He gets in well here with the claim for Maggie Collett and will take some beating. KIRINIA is a nice filly who was back to her brilliant best last time, scoring by 0.8 of a length from Li’l Piper. She draws out but has some upside and looks the danger. UNBOUNDED is the second of the Stokes runners and has trialled well for her return. She draws poorly but was placed this track and trip two runs back before a break. BARACONI hasn’t been far away in similar races.

SELECTIONS: BRAVEN BOY, Kirinia, Unbounded

RACE 9 - Terry Howe Printing Southern Speed Series Final (2008 METRES)

CONFUSION stuck on strongly after being caught wide behind Ritratto last time. His previous win was very good, showing a good turn of foot at the end of 1950m, and that could be valuable here. Todd Pannell can offset a tricky gate and I think he’s got solid each-way appeal. HASTA LA FIORENTE doesn’t run many bad races here and won the Skybeau Final over 2500m three back. His past two runs have been solid, he draws a good gate and will be in this for a long way, even with a big weight. RESURGE is going to win a race one day soon. His form has been good, the 2008m trip is probably ideal for him but he’s poorly drawn. Likewise SERIOUS SPENDER, who is racing well and a winner over 1950m. He was too good for SKILLFUL STEPS over the 1800m last time and will be in the finish despite a sticky gate. FLORIANO is going well and finished hard behind MEADOWS YOUNG BUCK last time. The winner won again at Morphettville last weekend, beating ANCIENT HISTORY. STEALTHY LUCAS had a gun run and powered away to win well last time.

SELECTIONS: CONFUSION, Resurge, Hasta La Fiorente
