Fifth time lucky for Spying On You?

South Australian chaser Spying On You will try to complete an historic Great Eastern and Grand Annual double when he returns to Warrnambool today.

Murray Bridge trainer Grant Young was on the road at 4am to make the trip for the final day of the three-day Warrnambool carnival with Spying On You, who claimed a second Great Eastern Steeplechase at Oakbank on Easter Saturday.

In four Grand Annual attempts Spying On You has been placed twice.

He finished fifth behind No Song No Supper in 2016, sixth behind Regina Coeli in 2017, third behind Gold Medals in 2018 and third behind Zed Em in the 2019 feature.

Spying On You is marked a $9.50 chance with tab.com.au behind Ciaron Maher and David Eustace’s Yensir ($3.60 favourite), who defeated Zed Em ($4) in the Von Doussa Steeplechase at Oakbank.

Spying On You is joined by stablemate Pentelligentsia, who finished third in the Great Eastern Steeple.
