Lincoln Moore's Saturday Preview

BEST BET: THE BILLIONAIRE (Race 3)

EACH-WAY: DIAMONDS (Race 8)

VALUE: EPERDUMENT (Race 2)

RACE 1 - 12:32PM Furphy Handicap (Heat 10 Rebel Raider Series) (1100 METRES)

Tempo is going to be crucial here. PHILONIZE was hammered in the lead but found plenty to score impressively on the Parks last time. He draws to find the lead and gets in nicely with the Ben Price claim, the jump to the 1100m the main concern. BROTHER’S SHADOW boasts the scalp of Karacasu last time in work and gets in well after the claim. Speed is drawn inside him so he can settle handy and be the strong horse late. His recent jump-out was solid. Likewise, BALLYNORA will settle off the speed from the wide gate and was good finding enough under pressure first-up from a spell. She should be fitter again and looks a big threat. SMYTZER maps to get a perfect run here and worked home OK at Moonee Valley behind Minsk Moment last time. Richards/Moyle have MAGIC MAX third up and he should be ready to produce, while stablemate GARRIRE draws a gate but does need to improve.

SELECTIONS: 1. BROTHER’S SHADOW, 6. Ballynora, 5. Philonize

RACE 2 - 1:07PM White Claw Handicap (Heat 3 Skybeau Series) (2500 METRES)

SLIPINTOTHIS has won four of 14 and stuck on well behind Hasta La War last time. He draws a sticky gate but has Todd Pannell to overcome that. The big improver could be EPERDUMENT getting out to 2500m after running down the track at Moonee Valley in the JRA Cup last time. She was placed in the Adelaide Cup back in March and gets in well after the claim. GALAHAD GURU is the progressive stayer in this line-up and was just behind the placings behind All Hard Wood last time. SANTELMO FUEGO, SASUN and NATIVE BLUE are all last start winners back in class.

SELECTIONS: 2. SLIPINTOTHIS, 1. Eperdument, 7. Galahad Guru

RACE 3 - 1:42PM Spring Racing Carnival at Morphettville - Oct. 16 - Nov 6 Handicap (1200 METRES)

THE BILLIONAIRE has a handy record and was good running 2nd behind a handy type in Starry Legend at Mornington last time when caught off the track throughout. He draws the inside and should give this a big shake. THRILL KILL was a good winner over Mayan last time and has two wins and a second from three starts here. He is going to get a good run. OCEAN REWARD has been in the money at 11 of 16 starts and placed both times he has been here. He draws a sticky gate but should be in the mix. EXPECTANT was an Echuca winner two starts back but draws awkwardly. TULLY’S GOLD gets the blinkers for the first time from a good barrier.

SELECTIONS: 3. THE BILLIONAIRE, 2. Thrill Kill, 8. Ocean Reward

RACE 4 - 2:17PM Hill Smith Stakes (1800 METRES)

BLACKCOMB is a nice filly who was runner-up behind Rhinoceros at Sandown, and she finished off strongly when 2nd again behind Barb Raider at Flemington. She has got the 1800m run under her belt and looks hard to beat from a good barrier. Stablemate MAN OF HEART was good here last time beating home all but Max Fire. CERBERUS was heavily backed at Cranbourne when placed behind Character and should appreciate getting out in trip. JUNGLE MAGNATE defeated Mac ‘N’ Cheese at Sandown on debut and draws to improve second-up from an inside barrier. MAX FIRE won well back in class before stepping up in class and defeating Man Of Heart last time. WHEELS OF COURAGE was placed in the same race and draws a good barrier.

SELECTIONS: 7. BLACKCOMB, 4. Cerberus, 1. Jungle Magnate

RACE 5 - 2:52PM The Junction Handicap (Heat 3 Riziz Sprint Series) (1050 METRES)

She is drawn a sticky barrier, but GAZE GRISE looks hard to beat again. She was good holding off Akkacan first-up from a spell, the concern would be she is winless from three starts here. HELLO LADIES comes off a soft 4 length win first-up at Balaklava and draws the inside gate. She looks a danger and was the big firmer when markets opened. LARKHAM is another who draws an awkward wide barrier, but his form is OK, and he can appreciate getting back to the outer track. RUSTY HALO won three on end before a solid effort behind Huffington last time.

SELECTIONS: 10. GAZE GRISE, 13. Hello Ladies, 5. Larkham

RACE6 - 3:32PM Adelaide Galvanising Handicap (1600 METRES)

Getting back to the bigger track is the key for MORITALTA. He has got an above average turn of foot and drawing wide isn’t an issue with his pattern of getting back. WILD IMAGINATION maps well from barrier four and was too good for Exalted Fire last time out. BIARCHI could be the improver here if she can find her early 3yo form and getting to the mile should be in her favour. DEELBRAKA was good behind Crown Mint last week and draws to get a good run. HINCHPIN is back and distance and was a winner this track and trip two starts back. SO BENE wears blinkers for the first time.

SELECTIONS: 4. MORIALTA, 9. Wild Imagination, 7. Biarchi

RACE 7 - 4:12PM Canadian Club Handicap (1100 METRES)

Should be good speed here and not many without a hope. THE MOBOT likes to roll forward and comes to SA having won three of his past five the latest at Pakenham. He could have a challenge for the lead with ONE MORE JACK drawn his inside. The Shane Oxlade galloepr has won four of eight this track and trip. MIDNIGHT STORM is another who maps to get a gun run here from barrier four and his form last time was outstanding. ROCK THE RING was well-backed when he scored a dominant win over Echo Boomer last time and must be given plenty of thought again. ALLEBOOM doesn’t do much wrong with six wins from 14 starts and was too good for Thompson’s Reward last time carrying 60kg after the claim. STREET TOUGH should get his chance here after another solid effort behind Free Of Debt in the Wylie. His form in SA has been solid and he is going to break through shortly. Stablemate SAVS FINALE was good behind Extra Tie last start and gets the blinkers again and a claim. TRITON RISING resumes and has the two trials under his belt. He draws out but should be thereabouts. TAKEN OFF draws to get a good run and has won six of 13.

SELECTIONS: 7. MIDNIGHT STORM, 4. Street Tough, 1. Alleboom

RACE 8 - 4:52PM John "Macca" MacDonald 50th Birthday Handicap (Heat 7 Viddora Series) (1200 METRES)

Another very open race on paper. DIAMONDS was good first-up running 7th behind stablemate Free Of Debt in the Wylie, she drops back in class and draws to get her chance. Looks nice each-way odds. Likewise, PIMM’S PARTY was very good running 3rd in the Wylie. She’s a mare with above average ability and was a good beating Heroic Chief and Huffington. The best version of LAKHANI ROSE would be in the mix here and I thought she was OK in the Wylie but does have plenty of weight. ZOUSHINE ran in in the Lightning Stakes back in July and her past couple in Victoria have been OK. She gets some weight relief and a good barrier. ORLANDO GROVE is a smart type and made good ground first-up from a spell behind Scissor Step at Ballarat. ANOTHER AWARD has ability and got well back when 4th behind Howl last time but does draw out wide. LADY DUNMORE won two of three starts here before a break and trialled well beating subsequent winner Dantree. POINT BLAZE was good winner two starts back before trying hard behind Star Of Uma last time. SO SAY ANGEL is chasing four wins on end. INDIAN GAZELLE has ability, SHE’S STYLISH is another who had good form last time in and ADDDICTIONS has been impressive back in class.

SELECTIONS: 6. DIAMONDS, 4. Pimm’s Party, 13. Orlando Grove

RACE 9 - 5:30PM Grand Syndicates Handicap - Join Team Grand Handicap (1200 METRES)

HANABI was too good for Philonize two starts back before chasing home Karacasu last time. She takes on the older horses but is progressive and drawn to get an OK run from her middle gate. JONQUEST chased home Enchantingly two starts back before another good effort behind Point Blaze. He draws to get a good run here. ALL IN WAR broke through for a deserving win last time out and gets in OK after the claim from a handy barrier. Stablemate SHE’S ESTELLE has been good winning two of her past three back in class. ALLURING GRACE draws a middle gate but was good on speed behind All In War here last time. ZERO INN was a good winner at big odds on the Parks track on debut and was thrown in the deep end in Nitschke Stakes before a spell.

SELECTIONS: 11. HANABI, 3. Jonquest, 1. All In War
