Bonuses add to Philonize's feature win

She failed to make her $32,000 reserve at the 2020 Adelaide Magic Millions Yearling Sale, but Philonize continued to repay connections faith with her third win in succession in the $102,250 Rebel Raider Series Final at Morphettville on the Saturday.

The Dion Koch-trained three-year-old led from start to finish to claim the feature and has now put more than $200,000 in the bank for her connections.

Her three race wins have secured $159,490 in prizemoney along with an added $44,650 in Racing Rewards SA bonuses and gave apprentice Ben Price the most valuable win of his riding career.

The stable will now look to raise the bar in Victoria with the impressive daughter of Reward For Effort who was the first leg of a riding treble for Price. The up-and-coming apprentice then scored on Hearty Lass and Noname Lane to give him 12 metropolitan winners for the season to sit second on the premiership behind Jason Holder.

On Friday Richard and Chantelle Jolly’s Regalo Di Gaetano put his hand up for a trip over the border with a dominant Murray Bridge Gold Cup win.

It was a perfect ride by Jake Toeroek who stalked the favourite Lord Vladivostok before proving too strong in the run to the line. Jolly believes the best is still to come for the horse who tackled the All-Star Mile earlier in the year.

“I think he’s still not quite 100 per cent,’’ Richard Jolly said.

Looking ahead, it is another big week of racing in SA.

The week begins at Naracoorte on Wednesday before more Country Cup action at Gawler on Friday. In addition, the Viddora Series Final is the feature at Morphettville on Saturday before heading to the west coast at Port Lincoln on Sunday.
