Hardacre pair ready for Riziz

Mount Gambier trainer Peter Hardacre can continue a sizzling spring for his stable in the $102,250 Riziz Series Final (1200m) at Morphettville on Saturday.

Hardacre’s stable has a history of firing through the warmer months, but after moving his racehorses to Murray Bridge, he has produced six winners from his last 16 runners (with six placegetters).

“As soon as we moved to the warmer climate the horses have thrived,’’ Hardacre said.

“We usually have a good period through the summer, but I think it’s just come a bit sooner this year now I’ve got the 12 boxes at Murray Bridge.

"It’s a good place to be working out of especially while the borders remain closed,’’ he said.

Spin The Reward comes off an impressive win over Hello Ladies while Harpuna was heavily backed from $4.40 into a $2.40 favourite when runner-up behind Valuable Witness at Murray Bridge last time.

“They are both good chances going into the race nice and healthy,’’ Hardacre said.

“They look in the six or seven chances in the race. I couldn’t really put one in front of the other.

“I’m happy with the barriers although they have both drawn wide, they can wind up into the race,’’ he said.

He also has Chill With Teejay who looks a leading contender earlier in the day.

“If the inside of the track is playing fair she’s a good chance,’’ Hardacre said.
