James Jordan's Saturday Speed Maps + Track Report

Racing.com's James Jordan has the key information ahead of tomorrow's meeting at Morphettville! Check out a full track report and speed maps here.

TRACK REPORT

Winning Post-1800m: There's some marking in about lane 4 from previous meetings but nothing will be out that far in this section. Nice grass coverage, walked a Good 4.

1800m-1200m: Literally unmarked. Walks perfectly, little bit of give in it but still a '4'. I thought the ground was slightly softer approaching the turn at the 1200m mark.

1200m-800m: Quite even across the track here. Certainly no disadvantage to be hard up against the fence. I think it should race well through here and is also in the '4' range.

800m-400m: A few spots with some minor wear but otherwise very consistent across. Couldn't find any lanes of note which is a good sign.

400m-Winning Post: Coverage has really improved in the last fortnight. The inside four lanes are really clean and the coverage is solid. Also in the '4' range.

Verdict: This is the briefest track report I've done so far, which is a good sign. The track has really improved in the last fortnight. The growth is strong and the coverage under foot is fantastic. The rail hasn't been in the True position since September 18th and factored in with the warmer weather of late the track is thriving. I can't see any significant patterns or lanes of advantage. The fence is the shortest way home and I expect it to be as good a place as any early, perhaps late they might drift off with wear. I think race tempo will be the deciding factor in races, which is what you want as an owner/trainer/punter etc. You can confidently bet on this meeting and I wouldn't be worried about any track bias.

Track walked at 3pm Thursday 25 November 2021.
