RACE 1 - 12:37PM Adelaide Galvanising Industries Two-Year-Old Plate (1050 METRES)

CELTIC VADER was on speed and too good for Sandpiper here last time. He draws perfectly has the claim and is going to give them something to chase. TEST THE LAW jumped out nicely at Murray Bridge during the week. He draws a nice gate and should run well here. AITCH TWO OH is a stablemate of Celtic Vader and must be respected. MONSEAGLE made good ground behind Celtic Vader last time and is an improving type.

SELECTIONS: 1 CELTIC VADER, 4 Test The Law, 2 Monseagle, 5 Aitch Two Oh

PLAY: Happy to watch on.

RACE 2 - 1:12PM Terry Howe Printing Handicap (1600 METRES)

SUNFALL is a Victorian 3yo who was a Flemington winner in August. He resumed in the Stockade at Ballarat and finished off smartly at Flemington last time He gets to the mile, should be ready to peak third-up and is the one to beat from the good barrier. LAKE’S FOLLY maps well from the good gate and has been knocking on the door closing late behind Artful Libby last start. ALL IMPORTANT battled on OK behind Dominus at Gawler last week. He draws the inside, and the blinkers go back on. BOOM BOOM SWEET was well backed to win at Geelong three starts back and Andrew Bobbin has a great record when he comes to Adelaide. RISING RENOWN is a former Kiwi first-up for Travis Doudle. He was an Ellerslie winner over 2100m three starts back and has been gelded.

SELECTIONS: 5 SUNFALL, 2 Lake’s Folly, 4 All Important, 7 Boom Boom Sweet

PLAY: Very keen SUNFALL.

RACE 3 - 1:47PM The Junction Three-Years-Old Maiden Plate (1200 METRES)

GOSDEN resumes here and has had a few chances. He went to the paddock after being beaten at Balaklava when an odds-on favourite. He’s been gelded and draws poorly but looks hard to beat. FRENCH COMET was runner-up behind Jena Valjean at Balaklava on debut. He draws the inside gate and gets his chance.  Stablemates STARLITE REBEL and STARLITE VALLEY have both shown ability. LEON’S SHOUT was OK behind Miss Miduki here last week.

SELECTIONS: 5 GOSDEN, 4 French Comet, 14 Starlite Valley, 13 Starlite Rebel

PLAY: Again happy to watch on here.

RACE 4 - 2:22PM Peter Elberg Funerals Handicap (1100 METRES)

CHOSEN BLONDE looks perfectly placed here and gets in well after the claim. She was good behind Florescent Star at Flemington last time and is the one to beat here from the middle gate. SENSATIONAL REWARD comes off a plain effort at Werribee and was runner-up at Terang at his previous. He gets the blinkers here and must be given plenty of respect. SKY CALL is a former Victorian now with Will Clarken and must be respected here from the good barrier.  SHE’S POETIC comes off a Stawell win and gets her chance from the inside barrier. SHELLSHOCKED is working towards a win.

SELECTIONS: 2 CHOSEN BLONDE, 3 Sensational Reward, 4 Sky Call, 7 She’s Poetic

PLAY: Backing CHOSEN BLONDE.

RACE 5 - 2:57PM Chalk Hill Handicap (1200 METRES)

HELLO LADIES has been a touch costly. He looked good winning at Balaklava five runs back and was then runner-up in handy city form races twice. He’s been well back in the run his past couple and could find himself in a sticky spot from the inside barrier, but I’ll give him one more chance. ANGEL LIKE defied the drift in betting to run well at her local debut behind Great Leveller. She strips fitter and looks well placed in this class. NOT A ZAC has been OK since coming to SA and maps well from barrier three. GUTSY had OK Victorian form and was 3rd behind Damascus Moment at Penola when first-up for his new stable. He draws out but must be respected. SPARKUP resumes and has been placed at all three runs here but does draw wide.

SELECTIONS: 4 HELLO LADIES, 8 Angel Like, Not A Zac, Gutsy

PLAY: Backing HELLO LADIES again.

RACE 6 - 3:32PM Neil McWater's 70th Handicap (1600 METRES)

MORTY has talent and got well back before running OK behind Getouttheway at Gawler last week. The mile suits and the blinkers go on, he has solid each-way appeal. AFRICAN AWESOME is a horse with upside and was good running 2nd behind Artful Libby last time out. He’s poorly drawn but looks well placed. WICKED ADDICTION has won two of his past three back in class but draws a nice barrier and must be respected. FULTON STREET was a good winner two starts back before carrying a big weight when beaten into 3rd behind Carbone last time. KALAMON comes off an easy Balaklava win but is winless from eight starts here. CARAK comes off a good Horsham win and the extra trip appeal.

SELECTIONS: 6 MORTY, 8 African Awesome, 4 Wicked Addiction, 1 Fulton Street

PLAY: MORTY looks an each-way play again.

RACE 7 - 4:12PM Thomas Farms Handicap (1050 METRES)

Some good form here with six last-start winners. FIGHTING MCLAREN looked smart resuming with a soft win over Starspangledsaga here last Friday. He draws a sticky barrier but is the one with the most upside and can win again. GREAT LEVELLER had good specking at a price beating Angel Like last time and should get a gun run from the inside and is helped with a 3kg claim. LOPE DE WOLF is the swooper and comes off two very good wins, the latest beating Sidearm and is well over the odds at $12. SECRET WAR has won three of his past five, the latest as a $1.50 fav at Gawler. This looks harder but the stable is flying. KAYSERI is going well and was too good for Picargo last time. DAMASCUS MOMENT is another last-start winner back in class at Penola and likes to be up on speed.

SELECTIONS: 3 FIGHTING MCLAREN, 1 Great Leveller, 8 Lope De Wolf, 2 Secret War

PLAY: Backing FIGHTING MCLAREN and also LOPE DE WOLF at the price.

RACE 8 - 4:52PM Grand Syndicates - 5% Shares Just $1,100 Handicap (TAB Southern Speed Series Final) (2040 METRES)

Another series final, anther cracking race. A lot of the main chances have a similar pattern sitting just behind the speed. I ended up going with the most progressive horse ICHIBANSAN who made can make his own luck like last week when he rolled forward and won easily. If he finds a cheap lead, he will take some running down. Those who like to sit behind the speed are FIGHTER who was good justifying a short quote at Gawler last weekend. This is a sharp step up in class, but he is progressing the right way and maps to get a nice run from the inside. CARRY THE MUSKET showed a nice turn of foot to run down Tatalina at Gawler last time, he should get an OK run from a middle gate. SEBONNA has a similar pattern and came off the speed to win the Bordertown cup last time. He draws well in a middle gate and must be given some thought. CALL ME SHAMUS is trending the right way and was good beating Wild Imagination last time. MONTEPULCIANO maps well form the gate and is more than capable in a race like this. RESURGE has been placed three of 10 here and is more than capable given the right run. VICTORY BANDIT was OK behind Darlamax last time and gets in well at the weights.

SELECTIONS: 7 ICHIBANSAN, 3 Fighter, 6 Carry The Musket 2 Sebonna

PLAY: Something each-way CARRY THE MUSKET at $14.

Race 9 - 5:32PM Thank You Jim Mettam Handicap (1200 METRES)

IMPERIAL HILTON is a nice type who came here and won well on the Parks track in June. His first-up run was only average, but he draws a nice barrier, has the Patrick Payne polish, and looks over the odds. HEYINGTON STATION was well backed first-up for the Will Clarken stable when 4th behind Heka Express. He draws wide but has the Ben Price claim. FULL PROBE is racing in great form winning three of his past four starts and was good leading throughout to beta Vieira last time. KENYAN WONDER was only beaten 2.2 lengths behind stablemate Outlaw’s Revenge in the Xmas Hcp last start. PROPER ROGUE draws the inside and has Jacob Opperman. He has some solid Victorian form at the back end of winter and looks over the odds. SO YOU CAN has been freshened and drops back in trip.

SELECTIONS: 2 IMPERIAL HILTON, 6 Heyington Station, 4 Full Probe, 5 Kenyan Wonder

PLAY: Having something on IMPERIAL HILTON, and KENYAN WONDER at the odds.
